You can get a job at age 13, but there are certain limits on how much work you can do. Either you or your parents need to speak to the Attendance Team at Slough Borough Council to find out more information and get a permit. Call 01753 787670.
You can legally get a full time job from age 16, assuming you decide not to pursue A-Levels or other training. Officially, you can't work full time until the last Friday in June, even if you have turned 16 before this.
The legal age of sexual consent is 16, however, turning 16 doesn't mean you have to start having sex! Respect yourself and your body by only having sex when you feel ready.
You can learn to drive a car from age 17. For the more adventurous of you, piloting a glider is legal from age 16!
You can vote in local and general elections from age 18. Make your vote count!!
You can get married from age 18. However, if you have the permission of your parents, you can get married at 16.
You can buy and smoke cigarettes from age 18, but remember the dangerous side effects!
You can buy and consume alcohol from age 18. If you're going to drink, drink responsibly!
You can open your own bank account without needing parental signatures from 18.
You can join the armed forces from age 16, providing you have parental consent.
