You're in the parents area of the Slough Children's Trust website!
In Slough, early years education is available for children who have not yet started school. By law children must attend school from the term after their fifth birthday. Many schools in Slough admit children earlier.
Parents can choose pre-school places from providers who are approved by Slough's Sure Start Service. These include nursery classes in local authority schools, local authority nursery schools, children's centres, private nursery schools, pre-schools, independent schools and day nurseries. Full lists of providers are available from the Slough Sure Start Information Service.
From the beginning of the term after your child's third birthday, your child is entitled to up to 15 hours a week free flexible provision. Providers will be inspected by Ofsted, the national inspection agency. If you want extra sessions with a private or day care provider, you will have to pay.
