Vision

Vision

Our vision for children and young people in Slough is:

"We want all our children and young people growing up in Slough to enjoy life, achieve through learning, to be proud of where they live, and be valuable members of the community".

In delivering our vision we will address the five particular outcomes of the Every Child Matters agenda and develop them within our own local context. We aim to develop:

  • The health of children and young people (Be Healthy)
  • The safety of children and young people, including the most vulnerable (Stay Safe)
  • The enjoyment and achievement of children and young people (Enjoy and Achieve)
  • The positive contribution of children and young people (Make a Positive Contribution)
  • The economic wellbeing of children and young people (Economic Wellbeing)

Specifically we are focussed on ensuring that all children and young people:

  • Enjoy their childhood and grow up to enjoy their adult life
  • Are healthy in mind and body
  • Are free from harm, fear and prejudice
  • Enjoy life and learning, feel proud of where they live and what they have achieved
  • Are confident and courageous about the future
  • Aspire to the very best
  • Each achieve to their individual best potential

Achieving the Vision

In order to achieve our vision we need to provide appropriate and high quality services in the right place and at the right time. We hope to achieve this through the Children's Trust and the CYPP and we want to do this by:

  • developing and providing services to narrow the gap between advantaged and disadvantaged children and young people
  • developing and providing multi-agency support and services in localities to secure the 5 outcomes for all children and young people
  • developing and providing parental support services
  • securing community cohesion, building on Slough's rich diversity
  • developing and fostering partnerships to strengthen the Slough Children and Young People's Trust provision for all of Slough's children and young people
  • developing and promoting environmental responsibilities
